Day Two
Last night was so much fun! When we finally arrived at our hotel we got our luggage up to our 4*5 size room hotel (not kidding, literally we have 5 people in a room smaller than mine. Keep in mind we each carry AT LEAST two suit cases!) We spent about an hour in our room and then headed downtown to eat. We ate at Ed Debevics, a place where the waiters are purposely rude to you! It was soo funny and entertaining.
Today is Camp STN day. Alex, Mehleena, and I got up and left for Columbia College around eight this morning. We took a cab from our hotel to the college and went upstairs to find Coach and Brandon Goodwin up with ten to twenty students and teachers awaiting to learn all about HTV and broadcast journalism. Coach started the work shop with explaining to everyone his top ten most important facts about making a story. Then Mehl, Alex and I took the students to another room and just talked about HTV and how we do what we do. They also told us a lot about what and how they do things at their school or after school program in some of their cases. After, we all met back up and went over the steps to a successful story and they learned all about WALLDO. Wide, Angle, Low, Linking, Depth, and Opposite. Those are all photographers techniques to shooting a story and creating variety. Finally the students got a chance to go down to the streets of Chicago and do some hands on work of examples of WALLDO. While they did this Alex Mehl and I went to Dunkin Doughnuts. Yummmmm. We also went into this awesome library where a security guard told us we had to leave or throw away our lattes. We chose to leave. Right now everyone is in Columbia College’s studio learning to edit on Final Cut Pro. The workshop is almost over and we get to load the bus again and go to Cleveland! Then comes NEW YORK!!
